When I was a young mother of three children under the age of three, I was diagnosed with Lupus. Jesus became my sounding board as I poured out my fears to Him. I was directed to memorize scripture, which would bring healing to me. My memory was not good in those days, so Jesus told me to put the scriptures to music. I wrote many songs this way and found that indeed, it was easier to memorize the verses when set to music.
This particular one, Do Not Fear, was instrumental in bringing me God’s peace whenever fear would hit me. I spent many hours playing and singing the scriptures.
So how did I choose the scriptures to put to music, you might ask? As I would read the Bible, sometimes special verses would minister to me. I didn’t want to lose the peace the verses had given me, so those became my songs.
I’m not a professional songwriter/singer, but my prayer for you is that the words of this song will minister to you.
