Psalm 91:11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. (New Living Translation)
When I was a young mother, there was one evening when my husband was gone to a church meeting and I was left alone with our three very small children. I had put them to bed and was getting myself ready for the same when there was a knock on the door.
In those days we lived on Main Street in Vancouver, BC. Directly in front of our home was a bus stop.
As I was walking to the door to answer it at eleven o’clock at night, I wondered if the person at the door was there waiting for the bus.
I got to the door, put my hand on the doorknob and turned it. As I was opening the door, “something or someone” from behind me shut the door forcefully. I stood there stunned. Eventually I said, “I’m sorry, I can’t open the door tonight. Goodbye.” I just knew an angel had shut that door to protect me and my babies. What would have happened if I had indeed opened that door? I don’t know, but I suspect it wouldn’t have been good.
Jesus has given us angels to protect us, and they are faithful to do so. That night I was so grateful for their intervention in my life. I don’t see them with my eyes, but I have no doubt they are with me all the time.
What about you? Do you believe you have angels watching over you? If you love Jesus, you can rest in knowing that indeed there is at least one angel with you at all times.
